NEWS & EVENTS
I regret that I have to close Kuk Sool Won of Leavenworth, for personal and professional reasons. I want to thank all of my students and their friends and families for the wonderful support you have given to make the Do Jang successful for over three years. I wish you all the best in each of your futures.
Always remember that "we need more practice."
TESTIMONIALS
Mr. Jerry Wilson, 56 years old and a Kuk Sool Won Brown belt, has some positive things to say about his Kuk Sool experience. "When I came to Kuk Sool Won I was using a cane, attending physical therapy, and taking Vicodin and Morphine for pain. I have a burst fracture of the L2 vertebrae and could not twist my body to look behind me. My doctor said I was too old and that I should stop martial arts to avoid further permanent damage. I told him I wasn't ready for checkers yet and I'm redefining retirement! Within three weeks of beginning practice I had put my cane away. When I returned to physical therapy the doctor was amazed by my progress. I am now able to bend my body in ways I couldn't before, and also am able to do cartwheels without any pain!"
Warrant Officer Robert Nicholas states: "I began Kuk Sool with zero martial arts experience. My intent was to get into better shape in preparation for US Army Warrant Officer Candidate School for my secondary career in the Army Reserve. Prior to beginning Kuk Sool, I had always had troubles keeping my weight within the standards required by the US Army, and never had a very positive attitude toward exercise in general. Less than a week after beginning study of Kuk Sool, I was hooked! I never realized that something so physically demanding could be so enjoyable. No matter how bad of day I might be having, an hour or two of Kuk Sool Won is always enjoyable and a great way to burn off stress as well as calories. I am currently in the best shape I have ever been, demonstrated by my receiving the highest score on the Army Physical Fitness Test in my 17 year Army career this past month. Thank you Dr. Challans and the Leavenworth Kuk Sool Won staff for everything."
